IRON MAN NEEDS A HAND JOB

Get ready for the almost fight of the century!

Behind the Scenes

I instantly got this idea when I heard Iron Man’s repulsors from the movie and thought they sounded an awful lot like the flash charging up on a disposable camera. This led me to researching then “casting” one of the lesser known villains of Iron Man… Titanium Man, which was an original 90’s action figure. I now know more about Titanium Man than any man should. Some quick trivia; the Iron Man figure was 1.5” taller and had way more range of motion than Titanium Man.

This was the first time I had ever animated a character laughing, which came as a challenge at first, but I got it down pretty quick once I started mimicking the movement myself. One thing any animator will tell you is that the process involves a lot of you doing the thing you’re animating… in other words, half the time you’re animating and the other half you’re looking like a mental patient. But it’s key to fully understanding each movement; you’ll notice little things you never did before.
